Welcome To The Society of Renal Nutrition And Metabolism

Messages of The Dean Prof Rajan Saxena,

Padma Shree Awardee

Chronic kidney disease has become a global health issue. In Indian has been declared the diabetes capital of the world, a condition which is one of the main causes of kidney disease. Management of kidney disease is incomplete without proper nutritional intervention. I am glad that the “Society of Renal Nutrition And Metabolism” has taken initiative in bringing about awareness in the most neglected area of management of kidney disease.

I understand from the scientific curriculum that The Society of Renal Nutrition And Metabolism’s Conference 2015 (SRNMCON’15) will address issues related to gaps in our holistic approach to disease, educate non-nephrologist physicians and dieticians and also learn hard core nutritional facts from experts. Malnutrition in chronic kidney disease is an impediment in response to the treatment. SRNMCON’15 is a platform that will bring together the health care providers, the specialists and primary heath care physicians, to exchange knowledge on the latest and translate the learning it into practice. The scientific deliberations in SRNMCON’15 will apprise non specialists on latest management and nutritional intervention in kidney disease which will have direct bearing on patient’s health and survival.

It is a matter of pride for our institute that the Department Of Nephrology has taken initiative to fight malnutrition in kidney patients through the activities of Society of Renal Nutrition and Metabolism and Department of Nephrology. This conference is a bridge between nephrologists and non-nephrologist physicians from India and abroad.

My best wishes to “SRNMCON’15 for its success and all its future endeavors.
