As the president of the International Society of Renal Nutrition and Metabolism (ISRNM) www.RenalNutrition.org it is a great pleasure to write for the “Society of Renal Nutrition and Metabolism of India (SRNM-India)” which is expected to adopt the status of the official branch and an Asian Chapter of the ISRNM. Though the SRNM of India is only a year old, it has proven its determination to contribute to the human society and medical world in terms of management of chronic kidney disease. To that end the SNNM of India should be commended for its recent scientific activities including “Workshop of Renal Nutrition and Metabolism” held on 23rd November 2014, and “Advanced Course in Renal Nutrition and Metabolism” held on the 4th and 5th April 20015, as well as awareness programs on “prevention of malnutrition in patients with chronic kidney disease” which was specifically created for non-nephrologist physicians and dieticians,. Management of kidney disease is incomplete without proper nutritional interventions. I wish, the movement started by SRNM of India for prevention of malnutrition and for nutritional management of chronic kidney disease become a global initiative in order to serve renal patients in the best possible way.

The first international conference SRNMCON’15 of Society of Renal Nutrition and Metabolism of India is a step in the right direction for bringing together nephrologist and other physicians and dieticians. The scientific curriculum should benefit all those who are participating the conference.

Due to official constraints I cannot be personally present to inaugurate the conference, but my participation is evident from the brochure of the conference. I wish SRNMCON’15 and all the participating delegates great learning and success. After attending this great conference in incredible India I invite you to the ISRNM bi-annual congress and Renal Nutrition Week, April 19-23, 2016, in Okinawa Convention Center, Okinawa, Japan, www.RenalNutritionWeek.org
