The Department of Nephrology, SGPGIMS, warmly solicits your participation in Advance Course in Renal Nutrition and Metabolism which will be held on the 18th and 19th January, 2020 under the auspices of Society of Renal Nutrition and Metabolism. The aim of the course is to bring about awareness among ephrologists, physicians and dieticians on prevention and management of protein-energy-wasting (malnutrition) in chronic kidney disease (CKD) population.

The scientific contents of the course relate to issues of utmost importance in day to day practice. The course is structured along understanding pathophysiology of protein-energy wasting and metabolic changes in kidney disease. The course will cover topics such as nutritional screening and assessment for evaluation of nutritional status, and updates on nutritional management strategies for prevention of protein energy wasting, and review current renal-specific nutritional practice, nutritional guidelines and treatment options for the range of CKD conditions such as acute kidney injury, diabetic nephropathy, hypertension, glomerulopathies, end stage renal disease, and post renal transplant.
This is a crash-course for those training in nephrology and fresh pass-outs in dietetics. The course will be helpful in planning a more focused approach in management of protein energy wasting in Indian setting.
